There are two main categories of things around us: living and nonliving things. Each has unique characteristics that distinguishes them from the others. Humans are living things while cars are not living things. But what is the difference ? With this living and non living things worksheet children will learn to differentiate items and classify them under the two main categories. Living things have the following characteristics:They can move around, reproduce, have feelings, live in a community and develop society, and more. Non living things on the other hand cannot move, do not make independent decisions, do not procreate etc. So think about a rock versus a human; the differences are clear. This worksheet on living and non living things contains a group of items that are displayed with pictures containing their names e.g. a picture of a cat and its name below and a picture of a rock and its name. Children will have to select from the two choices if each item is a living or nonliving thing. Haven learned this skill, take it to the next level by trying to understand what the characteristics of each are. This worksheet is a free pdf test sheet which can be used to learn at home or in the classroom. Goodluck with the exercise.
