What to Look For at the Different Phases of the Moon

In this article we'll discuss the Waxing crescent and the Waking gibbous. Once you've mastered the first two, it's time to move on to the next phase. The next two phases of the moon will be discussed in greater detail later. But first, let's get an overview of what each of them means.

Waxing crescent

The moon's orbit around the Earth lasts approximately 29.5 days. The moon goes through eight phases each month, each of which is visible as a thin crescent of light on the left side of the sky. The full moon, at its peak brightness, lasts for approximately 29 days. The other phases are the new moon and the waxing crescent. The Waxing Crescent is most visible in the Northern Hemisphere.

The Waxing Crescent phase occurs after the New Moon and lasts until the First Quarter Moon. The Moon will remain in this phase until half of its visible surface is illuminated at First Quarter Moon. The Waxing Crescent Moon rises in the day before noon and sets before midnight. This phase is very visible, because the crescent moon is reflecting most of the Sun's light back into space. The light reflects off the Earth and catches on the dark parts of the crescent Moon, lighting up the entire orb.

A Waxing Crescent Moon occurs every lunar month. It will be seen between the New Moon and the Last Quarter Moon in 2022. It will appear bright and orange, but will gradually grow smaller. As the months go by, the Waxing Crescent Moon will begin to recede. If you're interested in viewing the moon during this phase, the next time you look at the sky, don't forget to keep a close eye on the moon.

Waxing gibbous

The waxing gibbous moon phase is between the first quarter and full moon phases. It's the brightest phase of the moon, when the moon appears full from Earth. The moon is between 225-270 degrees ahead of the sun. Spells that release and banish are good choices for this phase, as the moon will be bigger and appear brighter than usual. To tell the difference between the two phases, you need to know what happens during these phases.

When the waxing gibbous moon phases are present, you might be feeling the urge to make major changes. Try not to force things. Instead, lean into the change instead. This will feel more sustainable and natural. After all, the Moon will be in a natural ebb and flow during this phase. That means it will take some work and effort before you can truly relax. But a little effort can go a long way.

The waning gibbous moon is the last of the gibbous moon phases. It's a time for self-evaluation and reformation. Holding on to negative things will negatively affect your mind and actions. It's a good time to consider your intentions for the coming cycle. Remember to let go of bad habits, as they are traps for negative energy. Rather, use this time to focus on new things that will improve your life.

The waxing gibbous moon phase lasts from seventeen to eighteen days. During this time, the Moon has an illumination of ninety percent and appears fuller. While the Full Moon appears full no matter where you look, the Waxing gibbous moon may appear to be on the left, right, or bottom of the sky. The darkest portion of the moon is called the terminator.
